Thread Closed Button

Hi

I would like to suggest that the thread starter will have a close thread button so that he/she can close his/her own thread.

this will prevent SPAMMING on a thread with useless or off topic post.

also it will help forum moderator in cleaning the forum..

For sure it will be rejected cause only staff can have that power to closed a thread.

I in the other hand agree to this,I feel that user should be able to close their own thread. If I feel or any other STAFF feel that the thread should be open the it will for specific reasons.

YES! MODS can close and open thread if needed but user must also be able to lock their own thread.

There is a "delete thread function", why not add "lock thread function"..

For those who do not know, if you start a thread on this forum and post something, if you edit that first post you make on your thread, you will see a delete thread button function, which means you can always delete the thread that you started, so I don't see reason for lock thread to be rejected..

I can lock my thread and only MODS and ADMIN can post their opinions/view on my thread..
other will have to be contented on reading my post even if they don't agree :P

I can make guides/tutorial and lock the thread so other forum user cannot SPAM my thread with "thank you" post.. they can always show appreciation if there's a "like" or "thank you" button function..

One thing I like most on this forum is the post auto merge function..

you can double, triple post as often as you like but, it will always be counted as 1 :P

Let`s say that you had a problem, you posted it on forum and meanwhile you fixed it ( Before a Staff`s reply ).
So why your thread should still exist ? To keep your Post Count ?

Going the wrong way about it. Furthermore you make no sense. Please re-read what I stated, Referring to what you said, If they found a way for a user to help them with a problem why would they need us to close it when they can? If it were to be a "Spammed" thread That's why ME the MODERATOR is here for. Either to delete the spammed & useless posts or to simply delete the thread. Though If a player closes his own thread after another player has helped him without our help then that's not considered as spammed or resulting in the thread to be deleted. Sorry to say but you're whole post is In-valid to me.


@Obsidian, i wont close this thread until I feel fit that a good argument has been put up about how It should or shouldn't be put up " Thread Close button"

Well I don't know if may opinion counts but for me this gets a +1

This will limit the spam in thread's for sure.

If I had post something on forum and I resolve it before anybody else could reply, I can simply edit my post to delete the thread or I can close the thread myself after writing the solution to my problem so that if others may have the same problem as I am, they can look up on the thread and find some hint/solution.

This is mainly one of the many reason I am suggesting a user closed thread capability. To stop SPAM on thread

I am not disrespecting anybody here, I'm just stating a fact..

this is not a POLL or something, so a +1 post will be treated as SPAM if not followed by argument or some suggestion/explanation..
